The Australian paralysis tick ( Ixodes holocyclus ) can cause serious illness and may be fatal to cats.
Seresto provides treatment, control and repellency of paralysis ticks for up to 8 months.
Its contact-based action helps repel and kill ticks without requiring them to feed on your cat.
This makes Seresto particularly useful for cats living in coastal and bushland regions where paralysis ticks are common.
Important Paralysis Tick Warning
No tick prevention product completely eliminates the risk of tick paralysis.
Check your cat daily for ticks during tick season, especially around the head, neck, ears and under the collar.
Remove any ticks promptly.
If your cat develops weakness, difficulty walking, vomiting, breathing problems or other possible signs of tick paralysis, seek emergency veterinary attention immediately.
Innovative Controlled-Release Technology
Seresto uses a specially developed polymer matrix containing two active ingredients.

Special Safety-Release Design for Cats

Seresto for Cats features two safety-release mechanisms designed to help reduce the risk of a cat becoming trapped by its collar.
If the collar becomes caught on an object, the mechanisms are designed to allow the collar to widen or release under sufficient force.
This makes the feline version different from ordinary dog flea collars.
Adjustable Collar for Cats & Kittens
The Seresto Cat Collar measures approximately 38cm in length.
Its adjustable design allows it to fit cats of different sizes.
For growing kittens, leave additional collar length so the fit can be adjusted as they grow.
The collar should remain in contact with the skin to allow effective distribution of the active ingredients.
Directions for Use
How to Fit the Seresto Collar
- Remove the collar from its protective pouch immediately before use.
- Unroll the collar completely.
- Remove any plastic connectors remaining on the inside of the collar.
- Place the collar around your cat's neck.
- Thread the loose end through the fastening loops.
- Adjust the fit so that approximately two fingers fit comfortably between the collar and the neck.
- Cut away excess length, leaving approximately 2cm beyond the fastening loop.
- For growing kittens, leave extra length for future adjustment.
- Check the fit regularly.
The collar should be worn continuously throughout the protection period.
Replace every 8 months for ongoing flea and paralysis tick protection.
Suitable for Kittens from 10 Weeks
Seresto is approved for use in kittens from 10 weeks of age.
The adjustable design allows the collar to accommodate growing kittens, provided the fit is checked regularly.
Do not use on kittens younger than 10 weeks.
Water-Resistant & Odourless
Seresto is designed for everyday convenience.
The collar is water-resistant and odourless, making it practical for cats that spend time indoors and outdoors.
